1st Hussars

Chief Warrant Officer Draper has performed at a consistently high level during his 31 years in the Armoured Corps, both regular and reserve. He has excelled in all facets of his career ranging from administrative to maintenance to crew commanding through to troop/course warrant and instructional duties. As a regular force soldier, he served two postings as Regular support Staff to the 1st Hussars and as a reserve Regimental Sergeant-Major has demanded the same high standard from his NCM's as is expected from the regular force. This has led to higher morale and a heightened sense of professionalism among the soldiers, and more particularly, the Warrant Officers and Sergeants of the 1st Hussars. His standards for soldiering are an example for all members of the unit to follow.

Captain Michael Robert Steele, MMM, CD
lst Hussars

Captain Steele joined the Canadian Forces in 1963 as a signalman. Throughout his career, he has served the Canadian Forces exceptionally well both as a Non-Commissioned Member and as an Officer. His continuous dedication to the Canadian Forces has been an outstanding example to all who have served with him. By his untiring commitment to the regimental family, he has forged a strong link between the serving members of his Regiment and its Association.
